Ôlift.be furniture lift extended to 29 m against a large apartment building in Uccle
The Ôlift.be lift at full height (29 m) in Uccle.

What is a furniture lift?

A furniture lift is a lifting platform mounted on a telescopic ladder, set up in the street in front of the building. The platform rises to the window or balcony, so items go up or down outside instead of through the stairs or the building’s elevator. It is also called a moving lift, removal lift or ladder lift; in French lift de déménagement or monte-meubles, in Dutch verhuislift or ladderlift.

At Ôlift.be the lift is never rented on its own: it is always set up and operated by our operator.

Reserving the street: the rule everywhere in Belgium

To set up a lift or park a removal truck on the public road, you need a permit to occupy the public road and, in most cases, no-parking signs put up in advance. The competent authority is usually the municipality; in Brussels some requests go through the regional platform OSIRIS. A chair, pallet or crate on the road reserves nothing legally.

Apply as soon as the date is set, several working days in advance. More details: parking permit for a furniture lift in Brussels.
